Hello, friends! Not sure why it has taken me so long to realize I need a FAQs page. Maybe I like responding to the same emails over and over and over. Or maybe not so much. I have FINALLY created a FAQs page. Check it out. And please if you can think of other common questions or have some suggestions, let me know.
Also, my pricing is right on my page as well. I have spelled it out here and you can build an estimate, request an estimate and initiate a booking here.
And here is a little preview of what’s coming up on the blog! Zenovy & Angela: Engaged!
Much love,
If you know me personally or perhaps you follow my Facebook page, then you may already know that I have a day job. Yes, it’s true. Photography does not support my family single-handedly. I have been an accountant since graduating college with a degree in Accounting & Finance in December 2005. I came upon photography in 2008 while planning my own wedding. At this point in my life, there are a few things holding me back from being a full-time photographer but I will leave that for another day. Right now my photography business gives me an escape from my daily life. A full day of reminiscing about romance or a couple of hours catching up with a family I watch grow. I love every aspect of it. And right now I sure wish I had more time to be behind the lens. But that is just not the case. You see I am studying for the CPA exam. For those who don’t know that is a professional abbreviation for Certified Public Accountant. I feel as though I need to finish what I started and make my degree worth something even if I don’t plan to use it my whole life. And who knows if I will, I leave every option open at all times. Circumstances could change in life, and I am okay with that. I am open for change when it is for the better. But for right now, circumstances say get your CPA and support your family but still have fun capturing precious memories.
The reason for this long winded memoir was to give you a little insight into my day to day life. Please forgive me if my blogging is not as regular as I hope. I am busy with my head in a book studying for the biggest exam of my life.
Here’s a picture from my birthday weekend to Snowshoe Mountain Resort. It was a multipurpose trip. A great birthday get away and a location for a snowy, cold engagement session. Stay tuned for those pictures. I am super proud of them.
This pictures was actually taken in Cass, WV because we were enjoying our “umplugged” mountain vacation so much we forgot to take pictures. Oops! We have wonderful memories though.
I started the day off with Dave at his and Nicole’s home in Grantsville, MD. Hello, police officers. And the picture above is the result of someone getting way lost. Wait, where are you? How far did you go? Too funny.
Then, I headed over to New Germany State Park where Nicole and her girls were getting ready. Nicole is also a police officer.
The cabins at the park were the perfect setting.
Did someone need tissues? Er, I mean tp. hahaha
Diva.
The church had no power when we arrived but Nicole didn’t let it stress her out. The only thing we needed was music even if the guests hummed.
The electrician rigged up the organ and the ceremony began.
The church had AMAZING natural light. I mean an entire back drop of open windows with a view of the mountain.
See those windows!? The were amazing.
Nicole asked that I take a quick picture of her handsome brother and fiance.
Partners in Crime…oh wait that’s “against” crime. lol
funny.
Huh? Wait?! Which way did they go.
Wait? Elvis was invited?! Firehouse DJ’s rocked the house.
Congrats Nicole and Dave! It was an honor to capture your beautiful, emotion filled day.
Getting Ready: New Germany State Park
Ceremony: Saint Ann’s
Reception: Penn Alps
Much love,
Emily and Jeremy were married in September in Shepherdstown at a private farm steeped with history. Their celebration was one of love and friendship. The most laid back wedding and enjoyable wedding. Thank you both for the honor of capturing your wedding day.
In the world of iPhone’s, paper and pen still mean more.
Mama Nibert keeping everything organized.
Poor Emily fell in her wedding shoes at rehearsal the night before and had a pretty black and blue ankle. No worries though Emily simply wore a more comfortable pair of Tom’s.
Beautiful lace…need I say more. Classic beauty.
Emily and Jeremy had one of the best first looks. EVER.
Then, it was time to see Grandma. Such an emotional time. I was in tears, too.
Emily had thought of EVERY detail.
Nice play on words Emily!
Married! It’s about time!
The shoes didn’t last long. Barefoot is definitely the way to go.
Quick back story. Emily had her Grandmother’s ring but accidentally dropped it in the grass. Then, all of her guest immediately started scouring the grass for it.
Found it!
Love this picture of Emily. Her smile lights up the night sky.
I love the first dance.
Beautiful sunset.
The newlywed game is always fun.
Congratulations! Much love,
Oh, sweet Juniper. June is now 2 years old and tall and lanky like her Momma. Such a sweet peach.
If you remember Juniper, then you may just remember this from March of 2011. This picture makes me laugh for two reasons. 1) Vivian was so FAT! and 2) Vivian was so FAT! Okay, that makes one.
Flash forward a year and a half and you get this sweet picture. I wish I had pictures like this of me and my besties through the years.
Back to the reason for this photo shoot. My good friend and fellow photographer, Lori, wanted family photos. Only one problem, Jon couldn’t make it. Well, seeing as we rescheduled once before Lori wanted to go ahead and get pictures of her and the kids. Yep, kids as in plural. Lori had a little boy named Bastian.
So sweet. Lori said it best ” This is definitely one that I (and I suspect he) will always cherish”. Mission accomplished.
I was lucky enough to have Lori capture Vivian nursing back in 2011, and they are images and memories I will cherish forever. Lori mentioned that she regretted not having nursing photos of Juniper and I wasn’t going to let that happen again.
I’m going to get you, June!
Lori’s request. Photos of putting June’s hair in piggy tales. In midst of the day to day rush, it’s nice to remember the small things you enjoy with your children.
Belly Button!
Kisses and hugs! Love you Swadley family!
