Vivian’s first trick or treating experience last night! She had so much fun. Hopefully, next year she will want to be something scary like mommy. Free costumes are the best! Thanks Sasah! I’ve had this pumpkin costume for two years waiting for Vivian to be old enough to walk around herself. Although, I’m still hiding the candy. hehe
Josh and Kaitlyn are getting married next May in Washington state in wine country. It was only fitting to take their engagement photos at a winery in this area to keep with the theme. We met up at Barrel Oak Winery in Dela Plane, Virginia. It was a beautiful day with a beautiful sunset. The view from the winery was exquisite.
Kaitlyn, your eyes are beautiful.
Josh is an army medical student at Walter Reed. Thank you, Josh, for your service to our country and our soldiers.
The light was stunning.
They are good snugglers.
How about that view of the winery from the top of the hill. My mind is still full of ideas.
Antique, convertible Rolls Royce…yes, please.
I hope your wedding is everything you dreamed it’d be!
Much love,
It’s time to clear out the old gear that’s been sitting unused for ages. Contact me at robin@robinday.net if you are interested in any of the items.
#1 Shootsac w/baroque cover. $125
I only used this bag for about a month. I needed something bigger. This bag is great for non-wedding sessions when you don’t need a whole bunch of gear. It is made of waterproof neoprene and is super stretchy. You can buy different covers that are interchangeable. They are held on by a velcro strip.
3 pockets in the front hold 2 lenses comfortable and one camera body.
3 snap closer pockets in the back. I used these for my water bottle, memory cards and flash.
#2 Canon Backpack $20
I used this for a little while as well but shows no wear and tear. Looks new.
Velcro dividers make it easy to make the compartment fit each lens or camera body snug.
#3 Tamron 17-35 2.8-4 w/UV filter (Canon Mount) $300
Very lightly used as it was replaced by a different lens very quickly. I fell in love with prime lenses and have not looked back. This is a great wide angle starter lens. It includes a Tiffen UV filter that I purchased separate.
I first met Mary & Brinton about 2 years ago when they were newly engaged and planning their wedding. I remember Mary’s inviting smile and Brinton’s charm. We were soon chatting like old friends sharing excitement for the upcoming wedding. The rest is history. You can see their engagement photos here and wedding photos here.
You can only imagine how excited I was when Mary contacted me about setting up both a maternity and newborn session. I am truly honored to share these amazing moments in peoples lives. And truly thankful for all of the friends I make a long the way.
The maternity session didn’t end up happening due to doctor ordered bed rest and crazy work schedules at the hospital (Mary and Brinton are both ER physicians). But we both knew the newborn session was a MUST. I just wanted to cuddle little Emma the whole time.
Those are definitely Gerber lips.
The sweet little headband was Mary’s garter.
I love the new parent smile.
Daddy’s and their baby girls warm my heart. Every little girl needs a picture like this.
Every child deserves a picture with their momma like this.
There is something about this image that I can’t stop looking at. The simpleness, Brinton’s smile in the background, the day to day event of changing baby’s clothes….it’s everyday life. And those are the moments that matter most.
Stretch.
Three generations.
Cuddles with her uncle.
Babies never seem to know what to do with those pesky arms in the way. I think of a bunny hopping when I see this.
Toes! nibble, nibble.
Favorite!
Wait a minute…is Emma trying to tell me something? hahahaha. I love you too Emma.
Love you three! Thanks for the honor of allowing me to capture your life’s precious memories.
Kerstin and Seth were married at Linganore Winecellars on July 7th. It was a scorcher but they were troopers.
Kerstin and her mom share an embrace.
We hid the little bit of shade we could find.
Thankfully, there was a breeze which felt great.
You ladies were amazing. I felt like one of the gals. Um, three pregnant bridesmaids. yes, that’s right. Three! And they didn’t complain at all!
Oh, yes. Seth wore his black suit in the 100+ degree weather. He worked it out, too!
Don’t mind if I do. It was the perfect cool down on that hot day.
Love this.
I love how Seth looks at Kerstin.
This little guy was too cute.
We disappeared inside the wincellar for a little relief. The temperature was perfect. I remember the employee saying “I don’t know why you would want to take pictures in there. It’s pretty ugly.” Well, to me it’s full of texture and pretty amazing.
Kerstin’s dad made the wine corks and her family in Germany who just so happen to be goldsmiths made their wedding rings! What a talented family.
A little video chat from Afghanistan.
We snuck back out for a few minutes during dinner after the heat subsided a little. Too bad the clouds covered up the sunset.
Um, wow!!! Seth can jump!
Thank you for allowing me to share in your wedding day! It was an honor.
Oh, Amy. Where to start?! I cannot even remember how many times I’ve photographed your sweet family. I do know I’ve gotten good at bribing your kids and hopping like a frog. ha! I love you and your sweet family.
Bribe#1. If I can take a picture of you and mom, then you can take a picture with my camera. Success.
I want a picture like this with my Dad.
This is reminiscent of an earlier place and time. ha. I think I am holding Charlotte..little peanut.
Lane, how old are you? Wait a minute…that cant be right. You are almost 4!?
Okay, quick think of another bribe already!
Get ‘er Lane, get ‘er!
Okay, fine. We’ll do Mommy and Daddy pictures for a few minutes.
Can you say RAWWWWRRRR!
Look at that smile!? Gah, I love it Tommy!
Bribe #2. I’ll come play thomas the train and baby’s with you when we’re done. Success. Well, sort of. I got the stare down from Charlotte.
Death stare……
It started raining just as we finished. And you know what rain and sunshine brings, right?!
Life is full of decisions. Sometimes it includes dancing in the rain.
Somebody wanted us to know he was watching and he liked it. It’s like he’s smiling over us.
Back to the house to full fill my promise. Charlotte told me great story.
Lane was more interested in taking photos of me. I think he needs his own camera.
Love you all to the moon and back! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!
